Mission to Romania 2026

Jun 20, 2026 | Romania | 1 comment

23-30 June 2026
We will be based in Brasov at a flat that is part of Brasov Baptist Church. We are the guests of Sami & Cornelia – pictured here with son Rafa and his girlfriend, Mia to the left of the image, and Seraina on the right.

Brasov Baptist is a large traditional building with a vibrant congregation. It is here that Sami works and is sent out as an evangelist to places like Teliu and Holbav – both villages about 15km from Brasov. We will be at Brasov Baptist for the service in the afternoon of Sunday 28 June

Teliu Baptist is a partner church of Cosham and we are delighted that the community here continues to grow. We will be here on the Sunday morning, where Simon will be speaking.

The main focus of the mission will be a camp in Holbav. Many of the children live in an idyllic location in less than ideal homes! Sami and Cornelia and others have helped the community who live in the hills to gain access to solar panels and running water – although many of the homes don’t yet have these.

The children walk every day to and from school – a walk of over an hour – in the heat of summer and through the deep snow of winter.
These children will join others from the village and we hope over 60 will come along for the camp taking place for three days from Thursday 25 June.
Friends from Brasov meet each week with many of the children to help their education and to help them discover Jesus. It is this project we pray the camp will boost and see many children come to faith.

Prayer Requests from the team

Matt: Went to Holbav last year – has job interviews to manage – so please pray for job and opportunity to fully experience the mission

  • To see at least one young person’s life transformed by the message we share.
  • That the team would bond and work well together.
  • For the courage to be led when God prompts.

Bart: Went to Holbav last year and is looking forward to his return

  • That we would make our messages for each of the three days clear and engaging for the kids.
  • That God would speak to each of the team from the week.
  • That we would each see something new of God’s glorious character.

Peter: First time in Romania

  • That we gel well together.
  • That the message would stay clear and unified.
  • That we would each learn something more of God’s wisdom

Cameron: Never been on a plane before!

  • That we may impact their lives in such a positive and effective way, bringing the children and young people closer to God
  • That we will also develop a deeper relationship with God, learning more and becoming stronger in our faith
  • That we can take something back home with us to remember and carry with us for the rest of our life

Simon: been enjoying going to Romania regularly since 2010.

  • For the team to work really well and for all to get fully involved and stay fully fit
  • For God to be at work during the camp – and for every young person to become more courageous
  • For energy, love, compassion and courage!

  1. Well, the Team may contain fewer people, but God knows what He’s doing and this will have happened for a reason.
Well done on such an early start. Will be praying. x
