Day 1: Beyond the Miracles
Reading: John 6:25-35
Devotional: The crowds followed Jesus for bread, but He offered so much more. Like the disciples who stopped at the sign pointing to Disneyland rather than continuing to the destination, we often settle for what Jesus can do rather than pursuing who He is. Jesus doesn’t rebuke our needs, but He invites us beyond them. When we come to Him only for provision, healing, or answers, we miss the greatest gift—Jesus Himself. The bread He offers satisfies eternally, not just temporarily. Today, examine your relationship with Christ. Are you following Him for what He provides, or because of who He is? Let the miracles point you to the Miracle Worker, and find your ultimate satisfaction in knowing Him personally.
Day 2: The Word Became Flesh
Reading: John 1:1-18
Devotional: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” This staggering truth changed everything. Jesus wasn’t merely a good teacher or miracle worker—He is God Himself who stepped into human history. The religious authorities couldn’t tolerate this claim because it threatened their control over how people accessed God. But Jesus came to remove all barriers between us and the Father. No longer do we need intermediaries, sacrifices, or religious gatekeepers. Through Christ, we have direct access to God’s presence. His incarnation reveals that God doesn’t remain distant but draws near with grace and truth. Reflect today on the wonder that the Creator of all things chose to become like you, to bring you close to Him.
Day 3: The Question That Matters
Reading: Matthew 16:13-20
Devotional: “Who do you say I am?” This question Jesus asked Peter remains the most important question we’ll ever answer. The crowds on Palm Sunday loved Jesus for raising Lazarus and feeding thousands, but by Friday, they shouted, “Crucify Him!” What changed? They encountered who Jesus claimed to be—not just a miracle worker, but God in flesh, the only way to the Father. This claim demands a response. We cannot remain neutral about Jesus. Either we crown Him as Lord over every area of our lives, or we reject Him entirely. There is no comfortable middle ground. Today, honestly assess your answer to His question. Do your priorities, decisions, and affections reflect that Jesus is truly Lord?
Day 4: The Joy Set Before Him
Reading: Hebrews 12:1-3
Devotional: Jesus went to the cross willingly. No one took His life; He laid it down freely. What compelled Him to endure such suffering? The joy set before Him—you. The thought of bringing you into the Father’s presence, of making you part of His eternal family, gave Him strength to despise the shame of crucifixion. This wasn’t a passive acceptance of fate but an active choice motivated by love. Jesus, who spoke galaxies into existence, allowed nails to pierce His hands because He treasured relationship with you above His own comfort. When you face trials today, remember you are someone’s joy. You are worth the cross to Jesus. Let this truth transform how you see yourself and fuel your devotion to Him.
Day 5: Worthy is the Lamb
Reading: Revelation 5:1-14
Devotional: One day, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. In John’s vision, all of heaven erupts in worship when the slaughtered Lamb takes the scroll. The same Jesus who rode humbly on a donkey into Jerusalem now receives eternal praise as King of Kings. He is worthy of all power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing. This is our future and our present reality. Paul counted everything as loss compared to knowing Christ. When we truly see Jesus—not just what He does for us, but who He is—nothing else compares. Today, join the heavenly chorus. Crown Him King over your fears, dreams, relationships, and resources. Declare with all creation: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain!”
