Pizza, parachute and praise

Holbav, what a day!

Kenny says: It been such a great day for me today, I was so overwhelmed and no words can describe it.

If I’m honest it was a bit worrying for me from the beginning, as a father myself. I’m a bit of a strong guy but seeing the kids for the first time together, was quite emotional.

It made my realise that God love them, the smile in their faces made my tears turn into joy. I got to know them more.

It was such a great experience, I have never had a better one in my entire life and will do it again not only in Romania but in any other country!

Simon says: So privileged to share the story of how God had ‘the desire and power to rescue his people’ with these children. Thanks to the team for making the telling of the Biblical story come to life, for being great team captains for the games and even attempting the craft.

Absolutely brilliant to see the smiles come onto the children’s faces as the day went on and to hear the joy and laughter. Big thanks to every member of the team for throwing themselves fully into the day. Amazing also to have the help of local Christians who brought pizza, drinks, fruit and more! Working with Sami and Cornelia is always encouraging and inspiring – I thank God for this new project and pray for all the kids that this would be a truly significant week

Jason says: Sometimes words aren’t enough, but we’re writing a blog, so they sort of have to be…

In the midst of a life battling with faith day to day, there’s moments where God is just visible. His Spirit is present, he’s there and things happen that are special.

Only God has the power to break down barriers.. we spoke a different language yet no one cared… only God produces a supernatural love that meant strangers at 10am were laughing uncontrollably and hugging and high fiving at 3pm.

Only God can bring peace and meaning and freedom that I spent two decades trying to buy. There are 29 little people in a hill this evening who I love DEARLY and cannot wait to see tomorrow.

Matt says: If I’m honest I’m struggling to put into words how I’m feeling today. Having met some of the families yesterday and seeing the conditions in which many are living, it has been such an indescribable joy to see them singing and laughing and just enjoying themselves and being like any normal kids.
I think we all felt that the language barrier would be a concern but we seemed to find a way through laughter, jokes and the odd bit of Romanian we’ve picked up to engage and begin to build relationships with them. I can’t wait for tomorrow and am praying we can use those relationships to really connect with them and begin to explore the freedom God offers on a deeper level.

Bart says: Today was filled with enthusiasm!

The kids arrived for the kids club very well-behaved and clearly pleased to be there. It didn’t take long for us to get to know some of them. We sang a few Christian songs with all the kids joining in with gusto, acted out the story of Moses, which amused the kids (the team died lots of times to illustrate the many generations of Israelites in Egypt!), did craft and played games with the 29 kids.

Sami and Cornelia led. They clearly love all of them. Andrei translated well for Simon as he told the story of Moses and we all helped in different ways. I was drawn to the kids; their smiles and laughs and love for us were infectious and it was great being involved with them. What a great bunch of children!

    • Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God” Mark 10:14. This demonstrates the high regard that God has for children and their importance in the kingdom of heaven.

  3. So, pleased it has gone so well, Simon.. what a blessing you have all been to the communities there,
Looking at our pics, memories came flooding back, could relate to the emotions you experienced there… nothing in my comfortable, very blessed God given life, prepared me for the poverty witnessed.
And as already said, in all of it, Gods love shone through, their generosity of spirit was humbling indeed.
I pray, that the love they witnessed on this mission, their hearts and minds were drawn into fellowship with our Heavenly Father.

Father God, thank you for being a God of love and righteousness. Thank you, for Simon and his mission team, for Sami, Cornelia, Rafa, Serena, and all working in your name. Give them strength, courage and protection, bless them abundantly as they share your Word..

Great to see the parachute is still bringing so much fun and laughter…🤪
I pray Gods blessings over you all, as you journey home.
    Tx
