Huffing and puffing – and wow!

2 days to fall in love with this amazing part of God’s world

2 days of great devotions writing psalms and prayers as we reflected on what we had seen and experienced.

Walking over 24 miles – up 3 different hills (mountains). For everyone who has been to Brasov and gone up the hill to the sign we climbed a new very much more difficult way. To views of both sides of Brasov, waterfall and a castle that gave Stately Home vibes!

Here is a selection of our photos and then we will include some of our prayers and psalms

Can you spot the cross above in any of the photos below?

First of all – our prayers

God, we pray for giving us this opportunity for this missionary work. We give thanks to you days in and days out. Please continue to protect us. Lord, be our light and shine in front of us. Father, we are starting our main mission tomorrow. Give us the wisdom and knowledge. Give us the love and energy. Amen.

Lord, you are faithful. Faithful God, I praise you. Over time, the waterfall will erode, over time the castle will crumble, you will always be faithful! Lord, I thank you for your faithfulness demonstrated in the lives of others. I thank you for Sami and Cornelia, I pray blessing upon them. I choose to depend on you , to fully put my trust in you, for you will never let me down. And Lord, I choose to be faithful. Keep me close, Lord, for I never want to leave you. Thank you for your faithfulness.

Lord, you are the spring of refreshment for my soul. A raging waterfall, a torrent of living water by which I will never be thirsty. As I step into the waters, I feel the restoration begin. As I go deeper still, your goodness and mercy they surround me. I feel renewed and equipped to face life’s journey once more.

Lord, let me always think about your love and faithfulness so that I reflect it, if weakly, to others. Show your love, Lord, because our world needs it deeply. Though people may reject you, please be faithful to your promises in Jesus. Without your love and faithfulness, I cannot live. With it, I need nothing else.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit, remind me that you can take nothing and make the most perfect landscape with just a command. Remind me that no human power or wealth can come close to your glory or stature. Remind me that no matter how much evil tries to paint over your goodness, the beauty within has not shifted and will live forever. Remind me that purification can and will be painful but it is necessary to bring me alive. Remind me to love You and my neighbour supernaturally, cherishing memories made along the way. Remind me that it’s OK to be tired. You renew me and will give me rest eternally.

Now some new psalms

My God, My God, the One most high,
Creator of all to bless my eyes

You see me laugh, you see me cry,
You only ever ask I try.

You gave us all this Earth to please us,
and when we blew it you gave us Jesus,

The evil one still tries to deceive us
But stay faithful to you and he will never defeat us?

I’m sorry my Lord, I’m quick to doubt you
Truth is I’d be lost without you

My life before was nothing to shout to
Anoint me to tell the world about you

My old life Lord has left me scarred
I’m finding walking with Jesus hard

The enemy makes your goodness marred
But Jesus for today, you have my heart

Thank you Jesus for never leaving a sheep behind.

You take my breath away
You refresh my soul
You lift my spirit
You renew my strength
For you are the one who made it all

I see one part of one forest on one mountain in one county in one country in the whole world and it takes my breath away
I look at a tree and and each trunk, each branch, each leaf takes my breath away
How can I reach the end of my wonder?
When will I ever stop bring awestruck?

I look at the spring and it fills my bottle, it doesn’t stop, it keeps flowing.
When there is no bottle it keeps flowing

Your love will always flow – whether I receive it or not
You take my breath away
For today I know your love
I’ve seen your glory
I’ve been refreshed
Lord, fill my bottle, make it overflow

Lord I have seen how great you are
You make the hills majestic
Next to them, what man has made just fits in among your created beauty.

I am refreshed on the mountain
Because you made it and clothed it in greenery
Showing your glory
I rest in your shade
I am in awe of you
Because climbing your mountain takes strength,
But I am secure because your steadfastness is greater still.

Lord, how great you are.
