Two churches, one big family.

The Teliu church met this morning and welcomed the five of us like family. The little church was quite full with maybe 35 people, but comfortably informal. There was much singing and we could recognise the tunes easily and a few of the Romanian words were recognisable, but Bart said he found it really hard to remember the English words!
We had two sermons, one from one of the Teliu men and one from Simon. In between, Kenny gave his testimony and Jason told his story in two parts. Most of the service, whether in English or Romanian, was ably translated by Pastor Sami’s son Rafa. When the prayer times came, most people prayed, which felt good. We were made to feel very welcome and part of their fellowship.

We enjoyed lunch at Sami and Cornelia’s, getting to know them and their family better.

After a bit of free time in the afternoon, it was time to enjoy the service in the Brașov church, which is bigger and a little more formal, but again we were welcomed warmly. Jason again told his story within Simon’s sermon with Matt and Bart giving their testimonies before. Following the service and after some good conversation, Sami went into Brașov with Simon, Matt and Kenny. A really good day with our Romanian brothers and sisters!
