Our spiritual regeneration is both similar and different:

• Our attitude and character should change as the Spirit grows His fruit within us.
• Our appearance might not change drastically, but there may be a new light in our eyes.
• Our mission in life shifts from self-centeredness to Kingdom-focus.
• While our official name may not change, our identity is transformed. We go from “failure” or “hopeless” to “child of God,” “valued,” and “masterpiece.”

Assurance of Our New Identity

One of the most beautiful works of the Holy Spirit is how He assures us of our new standing with God. Romans 8 tells us that the Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. This isn’t just a nice idea; it’s a profound reality that can revolutionize how we see ourselves and how we live.

Imagine living with the unshakeable confidence that you are deeply loved, infinitely valued, and eternally secure as God’s heir. This is the assurance the Spirit wants to plant deep in our hearts.

Replacing Fear with Power
