BMS World Mission – Creation stewardship

Nov 7, 2024 | BMS, Mission Partners | 0 comments

It can be frightening to hear about the suffering caused by heat waves, droughts, storms and flooding around the world, including in many of the countries that BMS World Mission works in. Yet God reminds Job that he knows more about the state of creation than any of us.

SUNDAY 10
Jesus reminded his disciples that they were the light of the world. Praise God for creating light out of darkness and pray that his Church will also shine in the world, through lives of love and righteousness.

MONDAY 11
The United Nations’ annual climate change conference, COP29, begins today in Azerbaijan for two weeks. Pray for the conference president, Mukhtar Babayev, to push the world’s leaders for greater action on climate change.

TUESDAY 12
BMS staff and Baptist House management are re-wilding parts of the grounds, installing bird boxes and insect hotels. Praise God for the diversity of living creatures and plants he created, thanking him for giving us the privilege of stewardship.

WEDNESDAY 13
November is World Vegan Month. Whatever your dietary preference, all we eat comes from God’s creation. Pray for those around the world who are hungry because of war, flooding or drought.

THURSDAY 14
Give thanks for Hope Home in Thailand, a BMS-supported project helping children with additional needs. Pray for their plan to plant a community garden with fruit trees, vegetables and composting.

FRIDAY 15
Last year’s Harvest appeal, Days of Plenty, introduced Ugandan farmers who struggled to cultivate their land to support their families. Please continue to pray for these farmers and for a good harvest.

SATURDAY 16
Pray for Peru-based Creation Stewardship Co-ordinator, Laura-Lee Lovering. Give thanks for the new BMS eco-stove projects benefiting communities and the dry forests they depend on in Piura.
