Orbit 33.2 – In denial What do you do or say when Jesus is attacked in conversation?
Read Luke 22:47-62
- In the first half of today’s reading, what do you think Jesus meant in v53?
- What accusations did people say about Peter?
- How did he respond? Quietly or noisily? Effectively? Lovingly?
Prayer – Be honest with Jesus and tell him of times you have let him down, or stayed quiet when others were picking on him. Ask him to forgive you.
Creative – Make a cockerel! Tear a bit off every time you don’t speak up.
Orbit Week 33 – Friday early morning
Orbit 33.3 – On trial We are heading to the cross – Jesus has said he is king! He has to die, but is it legal?
Read Luke 22:63-23:25
- What did Jewish leaders want Jesus to say? (v67, 70)
- But who is going to judge who? (v69)
- Look at verse 2 – are they speaking truth?
- What did Herod want Jesus to do?
- What did Pilate want to do with Jesus? What made him change his mind?
Prayer – Thank Jesus for going through all this because of his love for you.
Creative – Get a set of scales and weigh things accurately – talk about the danger of accusing other people, or talking badly about other people when you can’t be sure you are being fair!
