Have you ever felt like you’re just skimming the surface of your faith? Like there’s so much more to discover and experience, but you’re not quite sure how to access it? The good news is that God wants us to go deeper in our relationship with Him. He wants us to fully embrace the rich blessings and promises that are available to us as His children.
The Bible tells us that we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). That’s an incredible truth! But sometimes, we can become complacent or content with where we are in our faith journey. We might think, “I’m thankful for what I have, and I don’t need anything more.” Or we might focus solely on praying for future blessings without recognizing the ones we’ve already received.
But what if we could have both? What if we could cultivate a heart of gratitude for all that God has done, while also eagerly seeking more of Him? That’s the invitation that’s being extended to us.
To go deeper in our faith, we need to be immersed in the living water of God’s presence. Just like a coin has two sides, our spiritual lives should be marked by one or the other, but by both praise and prayer. We praise God for His faithfulness and the blessings we’ve experienced, but we also consistently pray for more of His wisdom, revelation, and power in our lives.
Gaining knowledge about God is important, but it’s not enough on its own. We also need to prioritize spending time with Him, building a genuine relationship. It’s not an either/or situation – it’s both/and. We learn about God through studying His Word, but we also encounter Him personally through prayer and worship.
As we dive deeper into the depths of God’s love and grace, we begin to uncover the incredible hope to which He has called us. This hope is not a wishful thinking, but a confident assurance in the promises of God. It’s a hope that enables us to endure through trials, knowing that our present sufferings cannot compare to the glory that awaits us (Romans 8:18).
Moreover, as we gain a greater understanding of the rich blessings God has in store for us, we find ourselves encouraged and strengthened in our faith. We may face challenges and obstacles, but we can rest in the assurance that God’s power is at work within us. The same mighty strength that raised Christ from the dead is available to us as believers (Ephesians 1:19-20).
This power gives us endless strength and dynamic energy to live out our faith with passion and perseverance. We can endure through difficult seasons, knowing that God’s grace is sufficient for us (2 Corinthians 12:9). We can have a real, unshakable assurance that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).
So, how do we practically go deeper in our faith? It starts with a commitment to praise and prayer. We take time each day to thank God for His goodness and to seek His face. We dive into His Word, allowing it to renew our minds and transform our hearts. We surround ourselves with a community of believers who can encourage and challenge us in our walk with Christ.
As we do these things, we will find ourselves growing in wisdom, revelation, and intimacy with God. We will experience the abundant life that Jesus promised (John 10:10), not just in the future, but in the here and now.
So, let’s not settle for a shallow faith. Let’s dive into the depths of God’s love and discover the incredible blessings that await us. May we be a people who are marked by Dynamic energy, Endurance, Encouragement, Passion, Endless strength and Real assurance, and as we pursue a DEEPER relationship with our Creator.
