*Orbit 19.1* – Jesus continues to teach about prayer. Re-read Luke 11:1-4 to remind yourself of where we are. Jesus now tells a bedtime story

*Read* Luke 11:5-13

  • Can you sum up v9 in one word, and v10 in two?
  • How easy is it to give up asking? Jesus encourages us to keep going
  • V11-13 what fantastic promises are there?

*Prayer* – Lord please fill me with your Holy Spirit so I can do all the things in verses 1-4. With your help, I can honour your name, know I’m forgiven, forgive others, I can be protected from sin and so much more!

*Creative* – Can you make a picture of the things a really bad father gives, and what even a bad father gives… and then add an image of what our Heavenly Father wants to give us.

*Orbit 19.2* – Some Jews are starting to accuse. Jesus testing Him, turning people against him. Luke now shows Jesus answering them. He pulls no punches. His first reply gives a glimpse into his battle against the devil.

*Read* Luke 11 verses 14-22

  • What did the people accuse Jesus of?
  • How did Jesus shoot down their claims?
  • And what did Jesus claim about himself?
  • Who has the power?

*Read* Luke 11 verses 23-28

  • Tricky bit in middle – I think it is mainly that we can try and clean ourselves but it isn’t effective – the only way to live fully in freedom is by following Jesus. Look at verse 23 and verse 28 to see the best way to live

*Prayer* – Thank Jesus for his power. Ask Jesus to smash silly ideas your friends have about Jesus!

*Creative* – How strong are you? How long can you hold a large bottle of water at arm’s length? Can someone bigger than you – hold a bottle in each hand? For longer?

*Orbit 19.3* – Look back at 11 verse 16 the people demand a miracle and hear Jesus responds to their demands

*Read* Luke 11 verses 29-36

  • What is wrong to keep wanting more proof from Jesus?
  • Who is Jesus greater than? Why is his message greater?
  • What makes for healthy eyes?
  • How could our whole lives shine brightly everywhere?

*Prayer* – Thank Jesus that he is the light and thank him that you can shine brightly for him.
*Creative* – Make somewhere dark – how much light do you need to get rid of darkness?
