Read Luke 2 verses 1-12
- Why the history details?
- What is missing from this reading according to all the Nativity Plays you have been in / seen?
- Who are the first to hear the good news
- How does the angel describe the news?
- How does the angel describe Jesus?
Prayer – Pray you will be someone who is always willing to share good news. Someone with joy that can be shared with the world!
Creative – Tell someone why Christmas is the best news
Orbit 4.2
How big do you think this army of angels was? And what a great noise they must have made!
Read Luke 2 verses 13-20
- How do the shepherds react to the news? *v15-18, 20)
- What about Mary? (v19)
Prayer – Thank God for sending His Son into the world to be our saviour. Recognise that he has the right to be king of your life!
Creative – Begin to plan how you could have an amazing advent period – not just where you open a window and eat a chocolate – but what else could you do?

Mary and Joseph do what is expected of every child – and there they meet Simeon – a man of great faith!
Read Luke 2 verses 21-35
- What had God promised Simeon? (v26)
- How did Simeon describe Jesus (v30-35)
- Who would Jesus save? (v31-32)
- What other effect would Jesus have on people (v34-35)
Prayer – Praise God using some of Simeon’s words…
Creative – Can you make some Angel Delight? As it sets draw a design on the top… manger? Stable? Cross? Take a photo and share it…
