God’s plan to save His people didn’t start with these two babies.
Read Luke 1 verses 46-56
- How had God treated Mary? (v46-49)
- How had he treated his people? (v50-55)
- What about his enemies (v51-53)
Mary realised what a privilege it was that God had chosen her to serve him in this unbelievable way. God often uses unlikely people!
Prayer -thank God that today you have opportunities to tell of the great things the Mighty God has done for you (v49)
Creative – Could you write a poem or song – what God has done for you, for others, down through the generations? Use it to aid your prayers!
Orbit 3.2
a voice returns and it is not the only one telling of who God is!
Read Luke 1 verses 57-66
- How did Elizabeth’s neighbours respond to the news (v58)
- What effect did these events have on the community (v65-66)
Prayer -Pray for your neighbours. Pray for those you know and pray that you will opportunity to get to know those you don’t yet know
Creative – Could you plan to do something with or for your neighbours in the run up to Christmas? An open house? Carol singing? Taking bins out? What else could you do?
Orbit 3.3
John would be a messenger – here his dad has a powerful message too!
Read Luke 1 verses 67-80
- What did Zechariah say about his son and what he’d do? (v76-79)
- What will God do for his people?(v69-75)
- What is the biggest enemy the people will be saved from?
Prayer -Zecharaih reminds us of our need to be forgiven. Spend some time saying sorry to God and accepting his forgiveness – for God is merciful and tender (v78)
Creative – Zecariah talks about a rescuer who would be sent! Can you create a short film or image that shows something or someone being rescued…?
