Day 1: The Weight of Love
Reading: Matthew 26:36-46

Devotional: As we read about Jesus in Gethsemane, we’re confronted with the immense weight of God’s love. Jesus, knowing the suffering ahead, still chose to bear our burdens. His anguish reveals the depth of His love for us. Today, reflect on the burdens you carry. Are you trying to bear them alone? Remember that Jesus invites us to cast our cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). Take time to pray, surrendering your burdens to the One who loves you enough to carry them Himself.

Day 2: Freedom in Christ
Reading: Galatians 5:1-6

Devotional: “Be free,” the sermon emphasized. Paul echoes this in Galatians, reminding us that Christ has set us free. Yet how often do we cling to our old chains? Whether it’s guilt, worry, or sin, we sometimes hesitate to embrace the freedom Christ offers. Today, identify an area where you’re struggling to accept God’s freedom. Pray for the courage to “take the key that is Jesus” and step into the liberty He provides. Remember, your freedom was purchased at great cost – live in a way that honors that sacrifice.

Day 3: Never Alone in Suffering
Reading: Psalm 22:1-11

Devotional: Jesus experienced profound isolation in Gethsemane, even quoting Psalm 22 on the cross. Yet this psalm doesn’t end in despair. It reminds us that even in our darkest moments, God is present. When we feel abandoned, Jesus understands. He endured separation from the Father so that we would never have to. If you’re feeling alone today, pour out your heart to God as the psalmist did. Trust that the God who did not abandon Jesus in the grave will not abandon you in your trials.

Day 4: Submitting to God’s Will
Reading: Luke 22:39-46

Devotional: “Not my will, but yours be done.” These words of Jesus challenge us deeply. Submitting to God’s will, especially when it differs from our desires, can be agonizing. Yet Jesus shows us that true strength lies in this surrender. Today, consider an area of your life where you’re struggling to submit to God’s will. Pray for the courage to trust God’s plan, even when it’s difficult. Remember that God’s will, while sometimes painful, always leads to our ultimate good and His glory.

Day 5: Bearing One Another’s Burdens
Reading: Galatians 6:1-5

Devotional: The sermon reminded us of the importance of supporting one another, especially in times of grief. Paul calls us to “bear one another’s burdens.” This isn’t just about helping with physical tasks; it’s about entering into each other’s pain and sorrow. Today, think of someone in your life who is carrying a heavy burden. How can you practically support them? Maybe it’s through prayer, a listening ear, or a tangible act of kindness. Remember, in bearing others’ burdens, we fulfill the law of Christ and reflect His love to the world.
