Orbit – the new beginning and Jesus Inviting

Orbit 2.1.1 – Jesus begins it all

What are you starting this week? I am starting a new way of doing Orbit here in Romania.

Sometimes starting a new thing can be scary. A new school or new teachers or new subjects can be really scary… imagine how God felt when he started a new thing…

Read Genesis 1 verse 1-5

What did God do on his first day?

Was he scared?

What does this remind us of God’s character?

Prayer Be thankful that God is bigger than all your fears.

Creative write down all you are afraid about. Turn them round so they become exciting possibilities.  Focus on the friends you will make, the people who will help you, the situations where you will demonstrate strength.

Sunday topic will focus on the beginning of Mark’s gospel looking at Mark 1:1-15

Orbit 2 Week 2 Part 2 (there was no part 1) – Jesus invites and makes us happy!

Who would you invite to a birthday meal? Anyone from history? What about if you could include film or book characters?

Read Mark 2:13-15

Why did Jesus choose Levi? What was it about him that made him a good choice?

What did Jesus ask Levi to do? What does it mean to follow Jesus?

Prayer Ask Jesus to help you follow him. Pray about how you could follow Jesus at school and among your friends.

Creative Make an outline of your foot / or a show… write in there different ways you can follow Jesus.

Orbit 2 Week 2 Part 3 – Jesus invites and makes us happy!

What is it that makes you very happy? Think of something in the past, something now and something in the future.

Read Mark 2:15-17

Why did Levi invite his friends to a party?

What made him happy? What had changed for him? Inside and out?

In what ways is Jesus like a doctor? Who goes to a doctor? If you are ill, but you don’t know it – do you go???

Prayer Thank Jesus you can be happy, because you have been forgiven, you are loved, you have a future with Jesus!.

Creative Draw a big smiley face… what are the many things that you can list that make you happy?
