Much has been suffered by Afghans in the three years since the takeover by the Taliban: withdrawal of the international community, collapse of the social and economic structures and natural disasters, including earthquakes and droughts. But as Psalm 102:17 reminds us ‘He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea’. Despite the many setbacks, God’s favour and heart is for the people of Afghanistan.
