I’m united with Christ and united with others through Christ – Devotional

Day 1: United with Christ

Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10
Devotional: Today, we reflect on our union with Christ. Just as an onion has many layers, at our core, we are united with Jesus. This union is the foundation of our identity and the source of our spiritual life. Consider how this profound truth impacts your daily life. Are there areas where you’ve forgotten this essential connection? Take time to thank God for bringing you near through Christ’s sacrifice and ask Him to deepen your awareness of this union throughout your day.

Day 2: Breaking Down Walls
Reading: Ephesians 2:11-18
Devotional: Christ has broken down the dividing wall of hostility between people groups. In a world often defined by division, we’re called to be agents of reconciliation. Reflect on any “walls” in your life – prejudices, misunderstandings, or conflicts. How can your unity with Christ help dismantle these barriers? Pray for God’s peace to work through you, bridging divides and fostering unity in your relationships and community.

Day 3: Citizens of God’s Kingdom
Reading: Ephesians 2:19-22
Devotional: As believers, we’re no longer strangers but citizens of God’s kingdom and members of His household. This new identity transcends earthly divisions and unites us in a spiritual family. How does this heavenly citizenship influence your earthly priorities and relationships? Ask God to help you live as a faithful citizen of His kingdom, embodying its values of love, justice, and unity in your daily interactions.

Day 4: Growing in Christ
Reading: Colossians 2:6-7
Devotional: Our union with Christ is not static but dynamic, inviting us to continual growth. Like plants moved from shade to sunlight, understanding our union with Christ allows us to blossom. What areas of your life need to be brought into the “sunlight” of this truth? Pray for the Holy Spirit to deepen your roots in Christ and produce spiritual fruit in your life.

Day 5: Love as a Witness
Reading: John 13:34-35
Devotional: Jesus gave us a new commandment: to love one another as He has loved us. This love, flowing from our union with Christ, is meant to be a powerful witness to the world. Reflect on how you’re demonstrating Christ’s love to others, especially within the church. Are there ways you can more fully embody this love? Ask God to fill you with His love and for opportunities to share it with others, that the world may know Him through your actions.
