Miraculous escape and your support help show Sara her worth to God

When Sara from the Middle East became a Christian, her father put her under house arrest for ten days, then arranged for her to marry a Muslim relative. Given how the demeaning treatment of women blends into the everyday culture in which Sara lives, nobody would rescue her – nobody but God.

“Someone came like a light, held my hand and dragged me out of the locked room,” says Sara, recalling what happened the morning that she was to be forcibly married. “He put me in a car. That morning, I woke up in a hotel room in a city in north Iraq, hours away from where I lived.” She later learned that security cameras at her home had stopped at exactly the time she was rescued.

Sara has since been disowned by her father – effectively deemed worthless by him – but she’s pressing on with her faith and calling, helped by a Centre of Hope run by Open Doors local partners.
